Baptism

A celebration of what God has done

For we died and were buried with Christ through baptism.  And just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. – Romans 6:4

The New Testament teaches about different parts of the conversion process like faith, repentance, baptism, and receiving the Holy Spirit all as a part of following Jesus. If you have taken the step of placing your faith in Christ, repented of your sins and are following him, then baptism is an important next step in your journey.

Peter invited his listeners on the day of Pentecost to “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins” (Acts 2:38). Three thousand people responded to the invitation, and “those who accepted his message were baptized” (Acts 2:41).

To “baptize” literally means “to immerse” and is how it’s practiced in the Bible, so that is what we practice at Cedar Point. Unless physically unable we believe those who have chosen to follow Christ should be baptized by immersion.

Baptism is an outward expression to the world of what has taken place in your heart identifying yourself as a follower of Christ.

At Cedar Point baptism is a celebration and a major step in your new life with Christ. Invite your family and friends to join you on this special day as you declare your faith in Jesus. Please contact Pastor Darin about our next baptismal service.
